Obituary for Bonnie Mae Blalock Lamie

Bonnie Mae Blalock Lamie, age 97, went to her heavenly home on Sunday December 10, 2017. Mrs. Lamie worked side by side with her husband Jimmy on the farm, and then became partners with her son Charles in the dairy business, when Jimmy died and until she retired. She moved to the cove as a bride in 1943 and began playing the piano at church. She continued as a pianist until a few years ago, and played for hundreds of funerals at many churches for over 72 years.

She is survived by a daughter Charlotte Dean Lamie Faris (Ronald Jeffrey); son, Charles William Lamie (Fada Marie); five grandchildren, Kristin Carter (Michael), Stephanie Pennington (Keith), Jason Faris (Skye), Kimberly Kimberlin (Dewayne), and Kara Goforth (Davis); seven great grandchildren, Michaela and Dalton Carter, Myles and Emma Kimberlin, Karlynn, Charlie and Lily Goforth; step great grandchild Jessica Pennington; step great great grandchild Taylor Smith; sister, Trula Dean Lindamood; sister-in-law, Edna Virginia Lamie; several nieces and nephews.
