Saltville, Va.

Eleanor Haynes Holmes, age 79, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 6, 1938 and was the eldest of 6 children born to Jack and Susie Haynes in Saltville, VA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Merch” Holmes, her 2 brothers Herbie & Tim Haynes and sister Tammy Carter, great nephew Tanner Haynes

She is survived by her son Jimmy Holmes, daughter Suzanne Farmer and husband Rick
2 sisters Linda Phipps and husband Wade
Teresa Dickens all of Glade Spring, VA
Sister in law Diana Haynes of Saltville, VA
4 Grandchildren
6 Great Grandchildren
Several nieces and nephews

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the nursing staff at Valley Nursing home for all the care given to our loved one.

Funeral services for Eleanor Holmes will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday July 11, 2018 in the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home with Lay Minister Bonnie Lester officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Rose Cemetery with Nephews Adam Carter, Travis Brown, Sam Phipps, Phil Phipps, Jacob Phipps, and Gregory Haynes as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be L.T. Olinger, Dr. Lee Brannon, Dr. Jerry Willis and Bryan Haynes
The family will receive friends from Noon until 2:00 prior to the service and at the home of Linda and Wade Phipps, Prices Bridge Road, Glade Spring, VA
