Obituary for Gordon Brown "Buster" Harris

Broadford, VA

Gordon Brown “Buster” Harris, age 84, passed away Monday June 25, 2018 at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, VA. He attended Roberts Chapel Methodist Church, retired from U.S. Gypsum in Saltville with 42 years of service. Buster loved watching the Atlanta Braves, Virginia Tech football, and his cartoons.
He was preceded in death by his parents Deck and Maggie Harris; brothers, Ben, Graham, John and Bo Harris; sisters Mabel Sheets and Bessie Harris.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Janet Roberts Harris; daughter Shelva Paschal and husband Kenny; son, Tommy “Tom Cat” Harris; grandsons, Michael (Kirsten) Paschal, and Jonathan (Christie) Paschal; sister, Christine (Randal) Robinson; brothers, Curtis (Dorothy) Harris, Paul (Dorothy) Harris, Donald (Janice) Harris, and Dan (Mary) Harris; four great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday June 27, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Petty, Jr. and Rev. Donnie Bailey officiating. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
