Obituary for Helen Cregger Dye

Saltville, VA

Helen Cregger Dye, age 81, passed away Tuesday January 16, 2018 at Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, VA. She was retired with 30+ years from Smyth County School System and was a member of Saltville Baptist Church. Helen enjoyed retirement and always loved a good book to read, a game of Yahtzee, NASCAR and ballgames, and always greeted you with a smile and a hug. She loved and was loved by family, friends and students and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Vic Dye; sister, Betty Akers; Brother Earl Cregger; nieces, Dolly Morgan and Debbie Cregger; nephew Butch Cregger

She is survived by a brother James Raymond Cregger and wife Carol of Hopewell, VA; nephew and niece Mike and Teresa Morgan which she loved as her own children, other special nieces and nephews, Patsy Venable, Roger Cregger, Edward “Ed” Cregger, Teresa Kay DeBord, Bobby Cregger, Brian Cregger, Lisa Cregger, Timmy Cregger, Pam and Stuart Moore.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday January 19, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Elizabeth Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
