Obituary for Howard (Chick) Chapman, Sr.

Howard Chapman, Sr. (Chick) age 87 passed away on May 24, 2018 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jane Sweat Chapman, his parents Albert (Nick) Chapman and Bertie Collins Chapman. Also preceding him are brothers, Joe and Clinton Chapman, sister Myrtle Poston, Kathleen Surber, Maggie Frye.

He is survived by his sons Howard Chapman, Jr. and wife Jackie
Carlton Chapman all of Saltville, VA
Sisters Dorothy Price of Saltville, VA, Juanita Blevins of Chilhowie, VA

Grandsons James Chapman (Dana)
Kristopher Chapman (Susan)
Eric Chapman (Ashley)
Jay Chapman (Kim)
Great Grandchildren Zoe Chapman, Asher Chapman, Riley Chapman, Karter Chapman, Konner Chapman, Amelia Chapman
Step great grandson Tristan Preece
His beloved dog Buddy

Mr. Chapman was a proud Marine veteran and also worked at Olin Chemical and West Virginia Electric.
The family would like to offer a special thank you Delores Thomas, a dedicated caregiver and Caris Hospice for the love, support and care given to him

Funeral services for Mr. Howard Chapman, Sr. will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday May, 27, 2018 in the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Branson and associate Pastor Richard Hodges officiating. Military honors will follow in the Elizabeth Cemetery with Marion V.F. W. Post # 4667 and representatives of the U.S. Marines. Pallbearers will be: Kris Chapman, Eric Chapman, Jay Chapman, Jimmy Chapman, David Heninger and Michael Heninger.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home
