Chief Petty Officer William F. “Bill” Cooper, age 67, 22 years retired U.S. Navy, went home to be with his Lord and family Sunday march 25, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father Stover F. Cooper; paternal grandparents, David and Lura Cooper; maternal grandparents, Bill and Dora Queen; brother-in-law, Don Gillespie; step-son, Bradley K. Barr; father-in-law, Robert H. Barker.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years Sandra Barker Cooper of Glade Spring; daughters, Zoe Cooper, Amber Cooper and granddaughter Iona Cooper all of Scotland; mother, Juanita Queen Cooper of Chilhowie; sisters, Ann Gillespie of Marion, and Brenda (Daren) Brooks of Chilhowie; brothers, Robert “Jack” (Judy) Cooper-Callahan of FL, Richard (Sandra) Cooper of Newport News, VA; mother-in-law, Gracie Taylor Barker of Glade Spring; step-sons, CW3 Christopher “Bruce” Barr of Ft. Polk, LA, and Barry “Justin” Barr and wife Brandi of Sugar Grove; 10 step-grandchildren1 step-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; life long friends, Richy (Donna Sue) Swartz, Jimmy (Debbie) Swartz of Chilhowie, Mike (Linda) Horne of Chilhowie, Shelia (Glen) Craig of Jacksonville, FL, special Pastor friend, Mack Blevins.

A private family Memorial Service and burial at Baptist Cemetery in Glade Spring will be held at a later date.

Very special thank you to Hermitage Health Center in Elizabethton, TN, for the excellent care and attention they gave Bill.
