Obituary

Alexis Brianna Woodward

Saltville, VA

Alexis Brianna Woodward, affectionately known as "Lexie," passed away unexpectedly at the age of 24. Lexie was a beautiful and fun-loving young girl with a heart full of kindness and compassion. She had an unwavering love for her family and friends, and her radiant spirit touched everyone who knew her. Lexie was a devoted daughter, a cherished sister, and a loyal friend. She was a 2019 graduate of Northwood High School where she excelled in athletics, competing in Softball, Volleyball, Basketball and Track. She was a standout second baseman for Lady Panthers Softball and led her team to a Runner Up State Championship finish her senior year. If you knew Lexie, you knew she had a love for shopping trips to the pinnacle, her many trips to Pal's for a Sweet Tea, and her photo shoots. The majority of the trips to Bristol and the photo shoots were spent with her best friend, her cousin Aubrie. Lexie's playful energy and caring mentorship made her an unforgettable part of Aubrie's life. Lexie loved her family vacations, cookouts, and trips on South Holston Lake where she was proud to finally be able drive the boat. She always made sure she had a special outfit for every occasion she attended. Above all, faith was the cornerstone of Lexie's life.  As a devoted Christian, she lived with strong values, always striving to uplift those around her. She was a member of Abundant Life Christian Center Church of God where she was also a teacher of the Children's Ministry. She had a special gift for making people feel valued and loved. Lexie was a natural peacemaker, an encourager, and a giver, especially when it came to children. Her passion for nurturing young lives was evident in her Children's Ministry and her work at the Lifetime Wellness Center's childcare program in Saltville, where she made a lasting impact on the children she cared for. Lexie's bright smile, thoughtful words, and selfless acts will be remembered by all who were fortunate to know her. Though her time with us was far too short, Lexie's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, George and Norma Serra, Clara Dot Christian, Allen and Ruth Fullen, and Charles and Ruth Woodward.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Gary and Kimberly Woodward; her brother, Clay Woodward; grandparents, George and Linda Serra, and Gary and Brenda Woodward; aunts and uncles, Jason and Andi Varney, and Shawn Serra and fiancée Teresa; her cousins, "bff" Aubrie, Grayson, and Vivian; several great- aunts and uncles; numerous special friends; and her work family at the Lifetime Wellness Center.

Funeral services for Lexie will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Chilhowie Christian Church with Pastor Josh Pickett officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside services will be private.
