Obituary

Saltville, Va. Alicia Camille "Cammy" Frye was a princess at her 54th birthday party a few days ago. Today, she is a beautiful angel in heaven. She loved everyone unconditionally and brought so much joy to our lives. She helped us raise our own children, and we all loved her dearly. Cammy was a 1990 graduate of Northwood High School and she was recently featured in National Geographic singing with her doctor, William Handy showing how music aids in healing. She loved sitting in the porch swing that her daddy made for her while singing along to the radio. Though she had many problems throughout her life, she never complained. Until recently she attended Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church and dearly loved her Church family. She was a woman of great faith and was an inspiration to everyone she knew and loved her. Bible school and her birthday were the highlights of summer for her. Up until a few years ago, she kept up with the age and birthday of anyone in her family and celebrated with them. Getting a call from her and Suzy was a family tradition. Cammy was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Frank and Marilyn Gilbert Frye; her sister, Dolly Morgan; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Left to cherish her memory are brothers, Ronald (Henry) and Mary Frye, Tim and Dianna Frye; sisters, Fada and Charles Lamie, Kathy Venable, Pat (Suzy-her "mommy" and chief caretaker) and Cooger Duncan, Treva and Phil Collins; Aunt and Uncle, Patsy and Jim Vance; nieces, Pam and Stuart Moore, Kristin and Michael Carter, Kim Kimberlin, Kara and Davis Goforth, Sandy Joyner, Jessica Frye, and Melissa and Danny Tiller; nephews, Mike and Teresa Morgan, Joe Roberts, Bryan Venable, Daniel Collins, Brandon Collins, Ben Frye, and Zach Frye; special cousins, Byrd and Cathy Frye, and Pattie Crawford; many great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. We would like to thank her caregivers who took such great care of her, Jessica Frye, (niece), Valerie Church, and Rosa Roark. We would also like to thank Dr. William Handy who called and visited her in the home, and all the nurses and doctors who cared for her in the hospital. Cammy was one of Johnny Lee's greatest fans and we really appreciate the call he made to the hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Prater officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:00 prior to the service. Entombment will follow at the Mount Rose Mausoleum in Glade Spring, Va. Because of the struggle Cammy so bravely faced, we ask that anyone attending the service to please wear a mask. Online condolences may be expressed at drhendersonfuneralhome.com. The D.R. Henderson Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Alicia Camille "Cammy" Frye.
