Allen "Dale" Kestner

Allen "Dale" Kestner, age 83, of Saltville, Virginia, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Abingdon Health and Rehab. Born on May 26, 1942, Dale was the son of the late Graham E. Kestner and Mary Martin Kestner. He was a proud graduate of R.B. Worthy High School. After graduation, he began his career as an electrician, working many years for West Virginia Electric. Known for his dedication and strong work ethic, Dale later finished his career and retired from Eastman. Dale was a very sentimental person with a gentle heart. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a loyal friend to many. He enjoyed sharing his wisdom with others, offering guidance and perspective drawn from a life lived with purpose and integrity. He was a member of Allison Gap First Church of God.  Dale will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Jeff Kestner; his sister, Loretta Gordon; and brother, Arlin Kestner.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years of marriage, Janie Kestner; his grandchildren, Holley Kestner, Amy Lundstedt and husband Daniel, Tyler Kestner, and Charlie Collins; great-grandchild, Haven Lundstedt; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Mount Rose Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Dunn officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the procession to the cemetery.
