Obituary

Amos Wayne Lamie Saltville, Va. Amos Wayne Lamie, 65, of Saltville, Va. died on May 13, 2021 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Amos Lamie. Survivors include two sisters, Doris L. Hogston and Daisy L. Roberts, both of Saltville; two brothers, William O. (Wick) Lamie of Saltville and Noel M. Lamie of Port Republic, Maryland; and three nephews and five nieces. Wayne was born and raised in the North Holston region of Saltville. He attended R. B. Worthy High School and received a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art from Virginia Intermont College. He did graduate work in Fine Art at James Madison University and later received an A.A.S. Degree in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating from Virginia Highlands Community College. Wayne was an artist in every sense of the word, living it on a day to day basis. He spent his life teaching and learning the gift of letting go and his art/life work dealt with issues of confinement vs freedom. Wayne was a Certified Rescue Diver who loved the ocean and all of nature and hated the pollution being done to it now. A celebration of life gathering will be held at D. R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va. on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Online condolences may be expressed at drhendersonfuneralhome.com. The D.R.
