Obituary

Glade Spring, VA

Angela "Nagita" Puckett Cregger, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born to the late Billy and Inez Puckett on November 8, 1952 in Balboa, Panama. A familiar and cherished face at the Saltville Golf Course, Nagita worked the pro shop for many years with a blend of grace, humor, and Southern hospitality as she always took excellent care of all of the golfers which were also her friends. In addition to her work at the golf course, Nagita served faithfully as a custodian at The First Church of God-Allison Gap. Above all, Nagita was the heart of her home, and her life was centered around family. She gave all of her love freely and abundantly. She had an unmatched gift for nurturing, whether it was a struggling flower, a stray animal, or a grandchild in need of comfort. Nagita loved having her family over, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She cherished every moment spent with them as their love, laughter, and unique spirits were a constant reminder of the beauty and hope she had in the world. Her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, church family, and the many golfers who came to know her as more than just a familiar face behind the counter — but as a true friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charles and Kate Puckett; a loving great-aunt, Martha "Sissy" Frye; and George "Chuck" Pauley.

She leaves behind her beloved sons, Craig A. Maiden and wife Tina Marie, Barry F. Maiden, and Jacob E. Cregger and wife Jasmine; two sisters, Rosa Belcher and husband Danny, Nanine Woodward and husband Bill; and brother, James Puckett and wife Rita; her grandchildren, Jeremy Maiden, Bret Maiden, Dylan Maiden, Becket Maiden, and Elijah Cregger; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Chance.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Cancer Center in Abingdon and Select Health Hospital in Bristol, TN.
