Saltville, Va. Barbara Ann Chapman, age 88, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles T. and Dora Belle Minton Smith; brothers, Malcolm D. Smith, Elmer Bradley Smith, Archie Smith, and Stanley Smith. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Cindy Keesee; sons, Charles Allen Chapman and wife Doris, and Richard Douglas Chapman; sister, Christine Puckett; grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Chapman, Ashley Dawn Hancock, and Jalynna Harman; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Aker, and Ethan Harman. She was a simple, loving person. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to cook and have everyone gather for a meal. One of her favorite pastime hobbies was word search books. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home on Monday, December 13, 2021, with Pastor James Gentry officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Elizabeth Cemetery, Saltville, Va.
