Barry D. Marshall, age 74 passed away at his home in Abingdon on Saturday, November 11, 2023. He was born on June 13, 1949 to the late Harold and Jean Marshall in Welch, West Virginia. He was a United States Marine Veteran who served two tours in Vietnam. Barry was also a devoted Pastor of the Valley View Assembly of God. As a Pastor, he served faithfully, guiding his congregation with wisdom, kindness, and love. He was a wonderful husband, father, pastor, and friend, who leaves behind a legacy of service, faith, and profound love.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Deborah Marshall; two sons, Barry Dean Marshall II, John David Marshall and wife Lindsay Brooke Marshall; granddaughter, Hannah Marshall; his church family; and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Henderson Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Boyd officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 2:30 until 4 p.m. prior to the service. The graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday at the Cox Family Cemetery in Dugspur, Virginia.
