Bessie Marie Hess, age 86, gained her angel wings on Sunday morning, November 23, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.  Bessie was born on June 20, 1939 in Washington County to the late Lon and Tisha Ray.

Bessie was often referred to as "Maw Maw" to many.  She loved her family and spending holidays with them.  She enjoyed gardening and cooking.  Bessie was a godly woman and loved attending church and enjoyed worshiping with her church family.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 2 sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 55 wonderful years John Hess; her children, David Hess (Jenny) of Saltville, John Hess (Tabatha), Regina Owen (Danny), and Brittany Hess all of Glade Spring; grandchildren, Daniel Hess (Brittany) of Abingdon, Kaitlyn McConnell (Zach), Gaven Stanley, Jaelynn Hess, Jonah Hess, David Hess (Kayla) all of Glade Spring, and Rebekah Hess of Abingdon; greatgrandchildren, Noa, Maylee, Gracelynn (her pride and joy), Jaxon, Bethany, Lyla, Peyton, Owen, and Jaycee; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services for Bessie Marie Hess will be conducted on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home with Brother Tracy Puckett, Brother Jason Nunley, and Brother Jerry Olinger officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Those serving as pallbearers will be Gaven, John, Danny, Zach, Lynn, David, Jonah, James Thomas, and Michael Thomas.  Honorary pallbearers will be Garnet Lester, and Tony Edmonson.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Old Glade Presbyterian Cemetery in Glade Spring.
