Glade Spring, VA Betty Hogston McAllister, age 87, passed away at the Ballad Hospice House in Bristol, TN on Thursday, October 21, 2021. She became a licensed Minister for the Church of God of Prophecy on April 29, 1977. Anyone who knew her knew she loved her Lord first, her Tyler second, and her children third. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Susie Hogston; and her husband of 65 years of marriage, James Tyler McAllister. She is survived by her son, James M. McAllister and wife Elfida of Seguin, TX; her daughter, Donna Sexton and husband Jerry of Meadowview, VA; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; very special sister, Carole McAllister of Chilhowie, VA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at D.R. Henderson Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Mitchell officiating and special music by Ron McAllister. The family will be receiving friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at Mount Rose Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Monday. The family would like to give a special thanks to Balled Hospice Care, Glade Spring Community Clinic, and Dr. Douglas Pote, and also her special caregivers Billie Robinson and Mary Kirk.
