Billy Joe Parris Saltville, VA Billy Joe Parris, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Helen Parris. Billy was a truck driver for Cooke Trucking in Mount Airy, NC, where he spent his entire career. He enjoyed his job driving around the country meeting new people and seeing new places with his favorite place being California. He is survived by his brother, Paul Parris (Gail); his two nieces, Tiffany Parris, and Amber Parris (Cobi); two great-nephews, Blake and Rider; uncle, Tom Stoupe, several cousins and family members; and all of his very special friends at Cooke Trucking. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Mountainview Baptist Cemetery in Meadowview, with Pastor Daniel Garrett officiating.
