Saltville, Va. Billy Wayne Prater, Sr., age 72, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 5, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Kathleen Prater; his wife, Shelby Prater; and his son-in-law, David Walker. He is survived by his daughter, Missy Walker (Mike Sword); son, Billy "Huck" Prater (Sandra); brother, Jimmy Prater (Karen); sisters, Carol Echols (Frank), Brenda McGhee (Jackie), Jean Brown (Dennis), Pat Ward (Blaine), and Pam Pickle (Johnny); grandchildren, Kayla, Peyton, Luke, and Miki Prater; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Henderson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Rev.
