Bobby Edward Olinger

Bobby Edward Olinger, age 71, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Deer Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Home. Bobby was born on August 8, in 1952 to the late Thomas and Sue Hunt Olinger. He was a loving husband, father, and brother. Bobby dedicated numerous years in working construction, with strong work ethic and commitment. Beyond his work, Bobby found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the great outdoors. He had a profound love for fishing, spending countless hours casting lines. Camping at Rural Retreat Lake held a special place in his heart, and he enjoyed every minute spent there. Bobby's legacy of hard work, love for family, and passion for nature will be remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Bobby is also preceded in death by his three brothers, Thomas Olinger, Donald Olinger, and James Olinger; four sisters, Linda Snavely, Ruth Farmer, Deanie Blevins, and Peggy Snavely.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 48 years, Carolyn Olinger; his daughter, Crystal Talbert and husband Chuck; his son, Derek Olinger and wife Mera; two sisters, Tammy Wade, and Doris Ann Olinger; grandchildren, Aydin Davidson, Gideon Olinger, and Liam and Ellie Halverson; several nieces and nephews; and special four-legged companion, Shadow.

A private family service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va. with Pastor Daniel Garrett officiating.
