Brenda Gail Keene, age 66, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, James G. Keene, Sr. and Thelma Gray Keene; brothers, Utah Olinger, Sr., Donnie Keene, Bobby Keene, and Johnnie Keene.

Brenda worked as a security guard for NASA offices in Washington, DC and retired from guard service at General Dynamics but continued to work there part time. She loved to read and was seldom without at least two books with her. Brenda never married and had no children but she treated all the children in her family as her own.

Left to cherish Brenda's memory are brothers, Jack Olinger and wife Orie, James G. Keene, Jr. and wife Diane; sister-in-law, Mary Olinger, 13 nieces and nephews, Jackie, Donna, Stacey, April, James III, Jason, Maureen, Janice, Utah, Jr., Susan, Donnie, Johnnie, Valerie, and 17 great nieces and nephews.

Honoring Brenda's wishes, there will be no visitation. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Saltville, Va. with Pastor Jimmy Frye officiating. Pallbearers will be Johnnie Keene, Dane Keene, David Hayden, Jackie Olinger, Stacey Olinger, and Hiram Robinson.
