Abingdon, VA

Carol Lee Chapman, of Abingdon, VA, (recently of Saltville, VA), a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, born on January 5, 1940, peacefully went home to be with her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, on January 8, 2024 at the age of 84.

She was preceded in passing by her precious husband of 32 years, James B. Chapman; and her parents, Paul and Helen Nozar.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Patricia Clark, Lisa Woodward (Jeffery), Thomas Riccio (Judith), and Francis Castle (Frank); her three brothers, Paul Nozar (Donna), Richard Nozar (Christine), and Robert Nozar; eight grandchildren, Kelsey (Ben), Taylor, Scott, Anthony (Bethany), Michael, Jonathan, Elizabeth, and Jacob; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

The family would like to extend much gratitude and appreciation for the love and special care given to her by English Meadows Sr. Living Community of Abingdon, VA and Ballad Health Hospice House of Bristol, TN.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Dunn officiating. The entombment will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will be receiving friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service.
