Carolyne Renee Cardwell

Carolyn Renee Cardwell, age 59, a loving mother, daughter, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024, at Johnston Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born with a kind heart and a vibrant spirit, Renee touched the lives of many with her warmth, grace, and fun-loving personality. She was a beautiful person, both inside and out, never quick to judge and always there for those she loved. A 1983 graduate of R.B. Worthy High School, Renee was honored as homecoming queen, and that was a testament to her radiant personality and the joy she brought to those around her during her life. Known for her feisty and fun-loving nature, she was someone who filled every room with energy and love. Renee adored spending time with her two daughters, often enjoying "All day long" shopping trips together. She had a beautiful soul that could light up the darkest of days. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Cardwell; and aunt, Patsy Kestner.

Left to cherish her memory is her fiancé, Mike Prater; her two daughters, Auburn Hunt, and Audra Cardwell; her father, Allen "Shank" Cardwell; three brothers, Ricky, Robbie, and Jimmy Cardwell; granddaughter, Layla Jennings; nieces and nephews, Josh, Will, Ryan, Amber, and Nick; special cousin, Vicki Frye; and the father of her two daughters, Thomas Hunt.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Loupe officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
