Charles Land, Jr., age 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Ballad Hospice House in Bristol, TN. Charles loved auto racing and raced with Ralph Earnhardt back in the day. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing and most of all mowing his yard. He loved mechanic work and worked as a diesel mechanic for Mid-Mountain Foods in Abingdon, VA. The most important loves of his life were his children and his grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Curry Land and Demmae Cobb Land; his wife, Bertha Rae Land; sons, Dennis Ray Isaacs, George Edward Land, and Jerry DeWayne Land; and brother, Stanley Earl Land.

He is survived by sons, Charles Ray Land "Charley", Timothy Wayne Land, Jeffrey Earl Land (Ashley Snook) of Virginia, Charles A. Land (Christine), and James Douglas Land of Kentucky; daughters, Amie Michelle Land, and Kimberly Renee Land (Justin), and Marie Cline (always like a daughter) of Virginia, and Lisa Hurt, and Lovetta L. Schoelhamer (Ronnie) of Kentucky; and his "fur baby" Dixie; grandchildren, Dustin, Cody (Dellaina), Brittany, Colton, Bella, Lily, and Otis of Virginia, Katie, Charles (Tony), Justin, Angie, Patricia, Michael, Joshua, Salem, Megan, Jesse, Katrina, Cassie, and Cheyenne of Kentucky; and several great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor David Mumpower officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
