Obituary

Chilhowie, Va.

Charles Bascom Keith, Age 70, entered into the arms of Jesus on December 3, 2022. He was born and raised in Saltville, Va. and a graduate of the 1970 class at Rich Valley High School. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Flora and Allen Keith, and he dearly missed son, Chuck A. Keith. He was a member of the Chilhowie Baptist Church where he made many kind and generous friends. He was employed with Virginia House Furniture until its closing, and he was employed at American Furniture for a number of years. He was an avid photo taker, and you knew if you were around him long enough that he would ask to take your picture or just snap a photo of you with his camera or cell phone. He enjoyed bird watching, particularly hummingbirds. He enjoyed driving to White Top viewing the scenery while singing old Church hymns. He was a huge Chilhowie Warrior fan, and you would see him cheering on the football team and the Lady Warriors Basketball team. Charles made it his life mission to be loud and proud of his love for his savior. Anytime you were in his presence he was talking about the Lord and wanted everyone he met to be saved especially his kids and grandkids so he could one day see them again. He was continuously in prayer for his kids and grandkids. Server of the Lord, he would tell anyone and everyone who would listen of his love he had for the Lord. He volunteered at the local food banks, folded Bibles to be shipped to other parts of the world always in the name of God. He wrote the Bible many times during his life. He enjoyed spreading the word of God at Valley Nursing Home and at many Churches over the years.

Charles is survived by one son, Charles D. Keith; daughters, Rachel Keith Lane, Angela Hayden and husband Marvin; step daughter, Jessica Ashby; sister, Wanda Ratcliff; grandchildren, Brian Eller, Diana Mullins, Timothy Keith, Steven Keith, Chasity Keith, Madison Lane, and Allen Hayden; step grandchildren; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews; special cousin, George Robbins; special friend, Pete Sturgill; and many other numerous friends and special Church family.
