Saltville, Va. Charles Campbell Sessor, Sr., age 90, passed away at Rural Retreat Care Center in Rural Retreat, Va. on October 14, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ward Sessor and Virginia "Susie" Sessor; brothers, Gordon "Petro" Sessor, Robert "Cat" Sessor, and Buddy "Joe" Sessor; sister, Naiden McGhee; great-grandsons, Eric Holmes and Griffin Jase Sessor. He was a member of Main Street Christian Church and was baptized at the age of 12 in Plasterco, Va. and reaffirmed his baptism on September 12, 2014. Campbell was a lifelong native of Saltville, Va. where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 and was in the 38th infantry from 1952 to 1953. He was a member of the VFW in Saltville. He was employed at Olin Chemicals and retired from H. S. Williams in Marion, Va. Campbell enjoyed hunting and camping in his younger years and loved watching wrestling. He is survived by his sons, David Sessor and wife Mary, of Saltville, Charlie Sessor of Saltville, Rickie Sessor and wife Libby of Chilhowie, Donald Sessor of Saltville; daughter, Carol Sessor Weaver of Konnarock; brother, David Allen Sessor of Savannah, Georgia; sister, Dorothy DeBord of Saltville; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; special friend, mother of his children, Beulah Sessor Coe; and special nephew, Bobby DeBord. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Laurel Valley Cemetery in Troutdale, Va. with Rev. Mike Halsey officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the U. S. Army Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chase Sessor, Derrick Sessor, Chance Sessor, Tay Sessor, Jarred Sessor, and Austin Weaver.
