Saltville, VA. Charles W. Talbert, age 80, passed away, Wednesday. January 5, 2022, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. He was a retired Highway Inspector for VDOT. C.W. was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Elsie Haydon Talbert and wife, Jean Ella Surber Talbert. He is survived by his children, Tracie and Mike Coe, Amy and Harry Frye, Jr., and Chuck and Crystal Talbert; sisters, Patricia and Wayne Slagle, Shelby and Roy Stephenson, and Glenna and David Anderson; grandchildren Kyli and Greg Waddle, Lacey and Connor Patton, Logan Frye and fiancé Jackie Ray Frye, Tabbie and Dave DeBusk, and Aydin Davidson; great grandchildren, His fighting buddy "The Wildman" Eli Waddle, Brooke and Brandon McCorkle, and Justin Nunley; brothers-in-law, Steve and Karen Surber, and Todd Perry; special friend, Lois Sweat; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring with Rev. Leonard Smith and Rev. Wesley Eller officiating.
