Cora "Sally" Allison Gillespie, 80, passed away at her home Friday, December 30, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Sally was a lifelong resident of Saltville. She was preceded in death by her parents, William S. and Vivian F. Allison; brother, George Allison; and sister, Rose Allison Taylor.

Sally is survived by her husband of 64 years, Samuel L. Gillespie, Sr.; son Samuel L. Gillespie, Jr. (Teresa); daughter, Lisa Johnson; four grandchildren, Jacob L. Sykes, Cody Johnson (Maranda) S. Joseph Gillespie and Christopher R. Gillespie (Kylie); three great grandchildren, Landen Johnson, Cora Johnson and Makenzie Sykes; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 2, 2023 at Riverside Methodist Church Cemetery in Rich Valley with Pastor Herman Cress officiating.

The family would like to thank Dr. Davis and the staff of Johnston Memorial Hospital Cancer Center and Caris Healthcare for their compassion and devotion to her treatment and care.
