Obituary

Bristol, TN Curtis Campbell Davidson, Sr., age 84 passed away March 20, 2022 in Bristol, Tennessee. He was born in Saltville, Virginia to James L. and Gracie Asbury Davidson. He was one of 14 children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Gloria Jean Davidson; brothers and sister, George, Deck (Joe), James (Tick), Irene Doane and Roy. Curt moved to Maryland as a young man where he was a tree-climber by trade. He worked for Gustin Gardens and Bauman Tree Company. Upon his retirement, he worked for The Virginian Golf Club as groundskeeper. He was funny and had a way of making people laugh. He was known for his crisp white t-shirts and Elvis sideburns and soft voice. He was also a skilled woodworker making cabinets, birdhouses and other do-dads out of anything he could find. Curt is survived by his children, Donna Richardson (Mike) of Marion, Virginia, Nancy O'Dell (Eddie) of Bristol, Virginia, Curtis Davidson, Jr. (Elizabeth Dillard) of Frederick, Maryland, Brenda Case (Rodney) of Bristol, Tennessee, and Linda Romero, Frederick, Maryland; Grandchildren, Kelly Bowen, Roanoke, Virginia, Michael Masten (Beth), Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, Teresa Jo Bradley (Blaine), Bristol, Tennessee, Sara Case (Colt Rutledge) and Victoria Case of Bristol, Tennessee, Melinda Thu (Maung), Frederick, Maryland, Tony Romero (Gabriella), Frederick, Maryland, and Victor Romero of Rockville, Maryland; Great Grandchildren who always made him laugh, Hadley and Emery Bowen, Emma and Ryan Masten, Myles Bradley and Madeline Romero; sisters, Nannie Anders, Gaithersburg, Maryland, Edna Brewster, Marion, Virginia, Elizabeth Roberts, Saltville, Virginia; brother, Tom Davidson, Saltville, Virginia; Sisters/Brother in-laws, Connie Davidson, Saltville, Virginia, Betty Pollen, Boonesboro, Maryland, Edna Robbins, Denver, Colorado, Donald Simms, Gaithersburg, Maryland; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will directly follow at Rich Valley Presbyterian Church. A luncheon will be held after the burial at Chilhowie Town Hall Community Room.
