Danny Joe Hartsock

Saltville, Va.

Danny Joe Hartsock, age 70, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Lerow and Katherine Bowling Hartsock; brothers, Claude Hartsock, Edward Hartsock, and Bill Hartsock; sisters, Ruth Ray, Betty Baldwin, Rosa Hackman, Leota Grace; and mother and father-in-law, Verlin McKee and Wilma Jean Allison and Wetsel and Helen Richardson; and several nieces and nephews.

Danny was born and raised in Dungannon, VA and attended Twin Springs High School where he was a member of the football team. He served in the United States Army where he was a military policeman. Danny served as a correctional officer at the Marion Correctional Treatment Center and retired after 28 ½ years of service. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. He also enjoyed "tinkering" with vehicles.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 19 years, Lisa Allison Hartsock; sons, Daniel Hartsock (Emily), Adam Henderson (Bochasity), and Kevin Allison (Sharon); grandchildren, Lilly Henderson, Dalton Allison, and Rylee Sturgill; special sister-in-law, Teresa Rexroad (Greg); Uncle David Neal and his "fur babies", Koda and Kasper.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home with Rev. Cara Boardwine officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Entombment services will be conducted at Mount Rose Cemetery Mausolem in Glade Spring, VA with military rites provided by the United States Army Honor Guard and the Marion V.F.W. Post 4667. Pallbearers will be Daniel Hartsock, Adam Henderson, Kevin Allison, Greg Rexroad, David Neal, and Dylan Henderson.

The family would like to thank Fresenius Kidney Care of Abingdon, VA for the wonderful care they showed Danny.
