Danny Ray Henderson, age 77, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Valley Nursing Home in Chilhowie, Virginia. He was born in Smyth County to the late John and Nina Henderson. Danny was a kind and selfless man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He had a heart of gold and was known for his generosity, always putting others before himself. His many friends and loved ones will remember him for his unwavering kindness and the way he could brighten any room with his presence. A lifelong car enthusiast, Danny had a passion for classic cars and spent many hours working on and admiring them. He was also a proud member of the Chilhowie, Virginia Masonic Lodge No. 250 for 41 years, where he built lasting friendships and dedicated himself to service and brotherhood.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by six brothers, Buddy, Charles, Mikey, Garland, Rudy, and Gerald Henderson; four sisters, Jean Morse, Linda McElroy, Diane Allison, and Sheila DeBord.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 57 years of marriage, Linda Henderson; his son, Chad Henderson; daughter, Renee Coe; brother, Charles Henderson; four grandchildren, Connor, Brooke Bare and husband Cameron, Carter, Nevaeh, and Gabrielle; two great-grandchildren, Tucker and Carson Farmer; step great-grandchildren Cash and Case Bare; special dog, Lassie; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Henderson Funeral Home. Following the visitation there will be Masonic rites starting at 2 p.m.
