Danny Lee Swartz, Sr., age 74, passed away on Friday December 16, 2022 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Danny attended R.B. Worthy High School and he was a member of the 1965 football team that won the district VI championship, and he was very proud that he was a member of the team. He was retired from the Second Harvest Food Bank in Abingdon and was previously employed with U.S. Gypsum in Saltville. Danny was a wonderful and providing father to his children. A couple of years ago, he was baptized, and he made peace with his Lord and Savior. He was preceded by his parents, J.C. and Hazel Swartz.

Danny is survived by his children, Danny Lee Swatrz, Jr., Kevin Hayden Swartz, and Marissa Swartz Morales and husband Alerto; wife and mother to his children, Phyllis A. Swartz; brother, James D. Swartz and wife Jennifer; sister, Connie M. Lee and special friend Jerry Kerby; brother-in-law, Jimmy Hayden and wife Connie; two grandchildren, Brock Shelton, and Brooke Garcia; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Pastor Mike Halsey officiating.
