Darrell Wayne McCready, age 70, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. Darrell was born in Saltville on March 13, 1953. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald C. McCready.Darrell had a long career as a supervisor at Merrilat in Marion, VA. After his retirement he enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years of marriage, Daphne Doane McCready; his mother, Patsy F. McCready; three children, Michael McCready and wife Misty, Randy McCready and wife Jennifer, Amanda Fink and husband Zack; two sisters, Karen Perry, and Lori Townley; brother-in-law, Jim; sister-in-law, Rita; eleven grandchildren, Chandler, Cianna, Chase, Grace, Londyn, Charlee, Juniper, Cameron, Skylar, Peyton, and Taylor; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to any children's hospital of choice.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Johnston Memorial Hospital CCU, especially Ashley, and also Holston Valley Medical Center CCU for all of their care.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Pastor Gary Evans, and Pastor Barry Loupe officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.
