David Mark "Jody" Mitchell, age 69, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at his home following a brief illness. Jody was a loving person with a smile that would light up a room. He loved playing with his "Paper Dolls" and listening to his music boxes. He will be missed by all of those left behind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Helen Mitchell; and his brother-in-law, Larry Ball.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sisters, Ruthie Goins and husband Ray of Seven Mile Ford, VA. and Billie Ball, of Abingdon, VA; nephew, Mitch Goins; niece, Chessie Brown and husband David, and also their sons Levi and Zack; two aunts, Sue Kestner and Christine Denton; uncle, Sam McKinney; special caregiver, Dixie Hunt; and also, several cousins.

Funeral services for "Jody" will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor David Mumpower officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. The burial will be following at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, VA.
