David Lee “Mule” Null, age 60, peacefully rejoined his loved ones in Heaven on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

David, better known to most as “Mule,” a nickname that fit his famously stubborn nature, found some of life’s greatest pleasures in the peace, quiet, and beauty of his land and home. He was happiest right where he belonged, surrounded by the familiar sights and sounds of home and the people he loved. Mule proudly served his country in the United States Army, a chapter of his life that reflected his strength and determination. Family meant everything to Mule. He believed in keeping family close and carried on the tradition of gathering at least once a week, usually on Sundays, to share a good meal and time with those who mattered most. Those Sunday gatherings were more than just a meal. Of course, if there was one thing he enjoyed almost as much as being at home, it was sitting down to a plate piled high with good old country fixings. When Mule ventured away from home, you might find him at his favorite fishing hole at the Minnow Trap, watching football or racing, turning the music up, or pitching horseshoes with his buddies. His seat at the table may now be empty, but the place he held in the hearts of his family never will be. With every Sunday meal, every story retold, and every gathering around that familiar table, a little piece of Mule will always be there with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eula Repass Null; brothers, Allen Eugene Null and Kenneth Ralph Null; sister, Regina Ann Roop; and his special dog, Homie.

Mule is survived by his siblings, Carol Sue Bise, Ronald Wayne Null and wife, Connie, Steven Blaine Null, Pamela Coe, and Karen Patricia Null; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Tim Brickey and Leah Allison; and a host of other loving friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at D.R. Henderson Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Evans officiating.

In one final act of kindness, Mule gave the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
