Dawn Marie Butler Gwynn, age 60, passed peacefully at her home on December 12, 2023. She was born in Montgomery County, Maryland on October 10, 1963. Dawn was the heart that brought her family together. As an affectionate mother and grandmother, she found the most joy in cooking and caring for her loved ones. Dawn had a caring nature and selfless dedication to her family and many close friends. A devoted mother and grandmother, she guided her family with love and set an example by putting the needs of others above her own. Dawn had many family roles, but being a grandmother was her most cherished. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and took joy in watching them grow. With her warm nature and caring disposition, Dawn had a way of touching the lives of those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Butler and Barbara Myers Leathers; and her sister-in-law, Joyce Butler.

Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Anthony Butler, Jeremiah Gwynn and wife, Amanda, and Joseph Gwynn (Samantha Robbins); her lifelong companion, Russell Gwynn; two siblings, Guy Butler and Elizabeth Butler; ten grandchildren, Julian, Aiden, Isaiah, Laina, Kylah, Gracie, Brinley, Adley, Novah, and Marilyn; two nieces, Jennifer and Christina; nephew, Jonathan; great nieces and nephews, Leo, Nevaeh and Leo; as well as her many friends and extended family.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Her final resting place will be beside her mother at Charles Memorial Gardens in Leonardtown, Maryland.
