Debbie Kaye
Dishman
Mar 22, 1959 — Apr 19, 2026
Saltville
Saltville, Virginia
Debbie Kaye Dishman, age 67, went home on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
Debbie was a devoted and loving mother whose life centered around her sons. She never took a day off from being there for them, always placing their needs above her own and offering a steady source of love, strength, and encouragement. Her family was the greatest joy of her life, and the bond she shared with them was one that will forever be treasured. She was a true social butterfly who never met a stranger. Debbie had a warm and welcoming spirit that made everyone feel like a friend, and her kindness could be felt wherever she went. Whether at work, in her community, or among family and friends, she was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer support, or brighten someone's day with her presence. Debbie was also a tremendous asset throughout her distinguished career with Highlands Community Services, where she dedicated many years of faithful service. Through her hard work, leadership, and commitment to excellence, she rose to become a respected supervisor and played an important role in helping clinics succeed. She was admired by coworkers and colleagues alike for her professionalism, compassion, and ability to lead with both strength and grace. Outside of work, Debbie found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved going to yard sales. Above all, she cherished time spent at the beach and loved vacationing, where she could relax, laugh, and make lasting memories with those she loved most. Debbie was the kind of person everyone was glad to know. It seemed no one had a bad word to say about her because she treated others with genuine kindness, respect, and love. Her caring heart, beautiful spirit, and the love she gave so freely will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Dishman, Sr. and Gray Kulin; sisters, Wanda and Betty; brother, Johnny; niece, Anita; nephews, Rusty, Tommy, and Robbie.
Left to cherish Debbie's memory are her fiancé, Bobby Davidson; sons, Michael "Doc" Kestner and Mark Kestner (Brandi Crewey); brother, Jerry Dishman; sisters, Joann Hopkins and Mary Sessor; grandchildren, Alisha, Brayden, Everlee, Gini, Laken, and Kage; great-grandson, Salem; nieces and nephews, Jeanne Hurley, Lisa Porter, Jeremiah, Daniel, Derek, Jared, John, and Ruben; special friend, Derek "Booger" Mitchell; dog (Westie); a three-legged cat; and a host of many other loving family and friends.
