Obituary

Abingdon, Virginia

Dennis Wayne Eastridge, age 68, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026.

Dennis was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He lived a life devoted to serving others, first through his time in the National Guard and later as a dedicated member of both the Chesterfield County and Clinch Mountain, Virginia, Fire Departments. His faith was an important part of his life, and he faithfully served as a Deacon at Grace Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. Dennis was a talented carpenter who took great pride in his woodworking, always finding joy in creating something with his hands. Professionally, he most recently worked as a plumbing engineer with Gresham Smith & Partners. In the community, many knew him as the "Salsa Man," the owner and heart behind Deacon's Salsas and Sauces. Of all the titles he held, his favorite was being "Dubby" to his grandbabies, who were the light of his life. Dennis was truly one of a kind, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris June Cannon Eastridge; and son, Michael Wayne Eastridge.

Left to cherish Dennis's memory are his wife, Sheryl Eastridge; two daughters, Emily and Jackie; father, Floyd Jackson; brother, Daniel; grandbabies, Luam, Dawit, and Semira; several nieces and nephews, and a host of many loving friends.

A memorial service to honor Dennis will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Valley View Assembly of God, 27435 Poor Valley Rd, Saltville, Virginia, with Pastor Alan Herd officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dennis's memory to the Clinch Mountain Volunteer Fire Department.
