Saltville, Va. Dennis Darrell McBride, age 73, of Saltville, Va., passed away on July 21, 2022, in his home. He was born on June 22, 1949, to the late Calvin and Stella McBride in Sky Gusty, WV, but had been a resident of Saltville, Va., in the Old Quarry Community, from the time he was 12 years old. Dennis was a loving and attentive father, a precious husband, and the best friend a person could wish for. Dennis loved to tell stories and was a very gifted storyteller. He was kind and had a heart full of love and compassion for all he met. He served his country during the Vietnam War from 1969 through 1970. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, June McBride and Bobby McBride; two sisters, Darlene McBride Gilland and Dorothy McBride Belcher; his father-in-law Pop Davidson, and mother-in-law, Christine Davidson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia "Patty" Davidson McBride; his son, Kevin Aaron McBride and fiancé, Danielle Surber; three sisters-in-law, Evelyn McBride, Janet Castillo, and Angie Day; one brother-in-law, James Gilland; special friend and chosen brother, Eugene Doane; special niece, Tina Richardson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and more friends than one could count. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Mount Pleasant Union Church cemetery in Saltville, Va. Military rites will be presented by the United States Air Force Honor Guard and the V.F.W. Post 4667. Those wishing to express condolences online may do so by signing the online guestbook. The D.R.
