Diane Naomi Wilson, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 17, 2024. She was born on May 6, 1942, to the late Floyd and Ruth Brown. She was of the Southern Baptist Faith and lived her life accordingly. Diane's warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a love for the simple joys in life, especially walking and watching hot air balloons float across the sky. She also loved exploring the beauty of national parks, where she appreciated nature's wonders. Diane was deeply committed to serving her community and volunteered for social services, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She was also a former member of the daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), honoring her family's history and legacy. Above all, Diane deeply loved her family, and her devotion to them was unwavering. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Wilson; her daughter, Tammy Wilson; sisters, Caroline Leckel, Vonnie Anderson; brothers, James Brown and Larry Brown; and stepdaughter, Wanda Hawkins.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Rocky Wilson and wife JoAnn; daughters, Ruth Walter and husband Joe, Charlene Bobbitt and husband Doug; sister, Kathy Strait; grandchildren, Joey Blevins, Andrew Blevins, Travis Hawkins, Michael Hawkins, Jason Ernest, Stephanie Eddy, Justin Wilson, and Kelsey McClellan; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; she also leaves behind her special cat, "Felix."

Funeral services for Diane will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville with Pastor Jay Overbay officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. The burial will be following at Mount Rose Cemetery. Travis Hawkins, Andrew Blevins, Joey Blevins, Justin Wilson, Aaron McClellan, and Joe Walter will be serving as pallbearers.
