Dolly Mae Sears, age 72, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was a kind and selfless woman who always put the needs of others before her own. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and her granddaughters were the light of her life. Dolly's caring nature and love for her family were felt by all who knew her. She had a generous heart and always worried about the well-being of others. Her kindness, warmth, and love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

She was preceded in by her parents, Garland and Nellie McGhee; her husband, William "Bill" Sears; two brothers, Garland "Butch" McGhee, and Edward "Bud" McGhee; three sisters, Velma Wyatt, Nellie Taylor, and Brenda Wyatt; and her best friend, Pat McGhee.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Roger Gentry; one brother, Bobby McGhee; two sisters, Nancy Wright, and Linda Slone and husband Kevin; her two pride and joys, her granddaughters, Olivia Nicole and Kerri Jo Gentry; sister-in-law, Connie McGhee; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Elizabeth Cemetery with Pastor Timmy Powers officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.
