Donald Wayne Cardwell, age 63, passed away on September 26, 2026 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA. Donald was born August 19, 1963 in Saltville VA. He attended Patrick Henry High School until moving to Douglas, GA where he graduated from high school. Donald was a U.S. Navy veteran and served on the U.S.S. Bowen. After serving in the navy, he continued to serve his country in the Navy reserves. He worked as a welder and his job took him to several different states. In his younger days, he loved riding motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by parents, Mack and Dorothy Cardwell; and his two brothers, Verlin and Avery Cardwell.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Sandra Sue Taylor and Deb Frye; brother, Donald Fred Cardwell; nieces, Gena Dean and husband Gordon, Lisa Boardwine and husband Chad, Penelope Dene and husband Thomas, Kayla Hilliard and husband Rocky, and Angela Leslie; nephews, David Cardwell, and Mark Cardwell; and his”fur baby” Rex.

Graveside services for Donald Wayne Cardwell will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Cardwell-Webb Family Cemetery in Saltville, Va. with Pastor Mark Baumgardner officiating. The family asked for everyone to please meet at the cemetery.
