Donald Gail Moore

Donald Gail Moore, finished his earthly work and went to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, January 2, 2023. He reached the seasoned age of 81 and had a full life. He was born on July 3, 1941 in Marion, VA. He was the 11th and last issue of William Crumbley and Georgia Orr Moore. He lived and raised his family "on the ridge" in Rich Valley. Throughout his life he was a farmer, Jeweler, Auto Parts deliverer-counterman and then later manager. Donald received an Associate's degree in business from Roanoke College. He was a proud father of identical twins Stephanie and Sherri. He lovingly cared for his mother and her property. Donald was very observant, quick witted, and always had a good story to share. He was extremely knowledgeable in the Bible and his religion. Donald enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and working on his parent's farm. He was also an avid collector and trader of firearms.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Georgia Orr Moore; his daughter, Sherri Moore; seven brothers, W.C. "Shin", Robert, Bruce, Jerry, Willis, McHenry, and Vance Moore; one sister, Ruth Carter.

He is survived by his sweetheart and wife of 54 years of marriage, Wanda Seymour Moore; his daughter, Stephanie Moore and husband George of Danielsville, GA; sister, Kathryn Bise; two grandsons, Wyly A. Pope, Cason L. Pope and wife Sierra both of Georgia; brother-in-law, Roger Seymour and wife Dixie; sisters-in-law, Brenda Powers and husband Neal, Rebecca Seymour, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Chatham Hill First Church of God with Rev. Mack Blevins officiating. The burial will follow at Ridgedale Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday evening January 6, at Henderson Funeral Home.
