Donald Elbert Pennington, age 70, of Glade Spring, Va. passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital on Sunday, September 4, 2022. He was born in Saltville, Va. on July 29, 1952, to parents Dwight and Margaret Chapman Pennington. Donald was retired from the Southwest Mental Health Institute where he worked for 33 years in food service. Including his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Janice Elaine Price Pennington, an infant son; his grandparents; brother, William Pennington; and an infant brother.

He is survived by his daughters, Ashley Ensor, Misty Hayes, and Kristy Little (Steve); sisters, Brenda Wilson, and Kathy Cressel; grandchildren, Jonathan Ensor, Ethan Harley, Madison Hayes, Kierra Hayes, Ryland Hayes, Christopher Little, Faith Stamper, and Cassandra Little. Donald liked playing bingo and slot machines. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Tracy Puckett officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:00 prior to the service. Burial will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the Old Glade Presbyterian Cemetery in Glade Spring. The following will serve as pallbearer's, Jamie Hayes, Jason Martin, Robert Stamper, Alex Rhoten, and Andy Wilson.
