Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Donna Jean Chapman Havens, age 78, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on July 4, 2025.  Donna was born February 25, 1947 in Saltville, Va. to the late Robert G. Chapman and Mary H. Chapman.  Including her parents, she has gone to join her loved ones who went before her; sisters, Peggy, Rita, Jackie, Jerry, and Sissy; and her loved son, Roy E. Havens.

Donna lived a simple life filled with love for God and her family.  Several of her friends called her momma and she responded with care.  Her grandchildren were loved by her deeply which grew even more when the great grandbabies arrived.  Donna loved to sing and at one point in her life she traveled to different churches in other states to sing "I Prayed for You".  She loved to play bingo and acquired a large group of friends who clearly loved each other.  At the end of her journey, Donna clung onto her faith in God raising her hands to praise in song and worship.

Donna's legacy will be carried on by her husband of 58 years, George Havens; two daughters, Miranda Haga, and Rose Havens; brother, LeRoy Chapman; grandchildren, Mary Parrish, Tyler Haga, and Hunter Haga; greatgrandchildren, Zamara and Ava Parrish, and Liam Haga.

Funeral services for Donna Jean Chapman Havens will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va. with Pastor Billy Gwinn and Pastor Doug Haga officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.  A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring.  Those serving as pallbearers will be Darrell Chapman, Will Skeen, Dustin Feeny, Chip Havens, Christian Gonzalez, and Richard Gonzalez.
