Rich Valley, VA Dorothy H. Lamie, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was a very hard worker, and was loved by all who knew her. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Joe E. Lamie; son, Robert J. Lamie; daughter, Rachel L. Fortune; her parents, Joe and Catherine Harris; three brothers, Joe, Roy, and Jeff Harris; three sisters, Mary Gillespie, Ruth Sult, and Rosie Testerman; several other infant siblings; daughter-in-law, Sue Lamie; and son-in-law, Howard Blackwell. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine (Katie) Blackwell of Broadford, VA; two sons, William (Billy) Lamie of Rich Valley, VA, James (Jimmy) Lamie and wife Shelia of Atkins, VA; sister, Elizabeth Horne of Atkins, VA; brother, Ed Harris of Chilhowie, VA; special grandson, Johnny Blackwell of Broadford, VA; daughter-in-law, Lori Lamie of Troutdale, VA; sisters-in-law, Phyliss Lamie of Saltville, VA, Betty Strouth of Saltville, VA, Rita Harris of Saltville, VA, and Goldie Harris of Ceres, VA; step grandson, Walter Barrett of Saltville, VA; step granddaughters, Brenda Barrett, and Judy Barger of Rich Valley, VA; great- step grandson, Dennis Barrett (My Boy) of Saltville, VA; several nieces and nephews; and her furry friends, Tanner and Sunshine. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. The burial will follow at the Ridgedale Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 12 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. Everyone is asked to please follow the Covid-19 guidelines.
