Douglas Wayne "Doug" Taylor, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va.  Doug was preceded in death by wife, Betty Jo Taylor; his parents Charles D." Slick" Taylor, Sr. and Gladys Prater Taylor.

Doug was a graduate of Rich Valley High School.  During his life he worked several years as a core driller at PCS in Saltville and 20 years at TRW in Atkins, Va.  He loved working in his garden, fishing, but most of all he loved football.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Jason Neal of Franklin, VA.; daughters Tisha Briggs (Eddie) of Saltville, VA., Stacy Taylor (Matt Justus) of Glade Spring, VA., Stephanie Reynolds (Jason) of Kingsport, TN, and Heather Minton of Marion, VA.; brothers, C. D. Taylor, and Don Taylor; sister, Drema Neal (Mike) of Saltville, VA.; seven grandkids and 1 great grandchild; family friend, Robert Ashley; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude and wonderful care Doug received to Dr. Grover and the staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie Bailey officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service.
