Marion, Va. Edith Kay Cook, age 66, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022 at her home. She was a fighter that refused to give up or quit during her long battle with cancer. Edith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Edith was a member of Pugh Mountain Church. She enjoyed being with her church family especially all of the kids who attended. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alice C. Taylor; husband, James F. O'Quinn, Sr.; husband, Glen Ray Cook; son, James F. O'Quinn, Jr.; one sister, Shirley Taylor; and three brothers, Don Taylor, Gene Taylor, and Ray Taylor. She is survived by her two sons, Donald Cook and wife Margaret, and Tim Cook all of Marion, Va.; one sister, Alice Burton; two brothers, Junior Taylor, and Jack Taylor; grandchildren, Vickie and Carrie Whitt; and great-grandchildren, Lilianna Jessee, and expecting Bentley Ray Little; special friends, Jimmy Testerman, the Firestones, all of her friends at Pugh Mountain Church; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Darrel Pickle officiating. The burial will follow at the Mahanaim Cemetery in Clinchburg, Va. The family will be receiving friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday.
