Edward Ray Hunt. Age 69, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. He was a beloved husband and father. Ray was a 1972 graduate from R. B. Worthy High School. He was an Eagle Scout and the only one at the time. He was a member of the VFW Post 4667 and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Saltville No. 227. Ray served his country with both the United States Army and Navy. He was a hard worker. Ray always said that he was like his uncle Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Hunt and Nancy Hunt; grandparents, Bram and Mamie Hunt, and Ray and Mae Fore; and sister, Rosemary Anderson.

Ray is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kathy S. Hunt who loved him more than anything; daughters, Savanna Hunt, and Jessica Hunt; sister, Zola DeBord and husband Roger; grandchildren, Makenzie Wright, Mason Wright, Makayla Johnson, and McKinna Johnson; sisters-in-law, Jane Roberts and Tom, Gail Walk and Robert Gullion, Phyllis Nichols, and Elsie Sampson and Mark; brothers-in-law, Wayne Nichols, Charles Nichols, James Nichols, and Joe Nichols and Candy; nieces, Maggie Collins, and Mindy and Jonathan Saltz; nephews, Todd and Deidra DeBord, and Seth Anderson; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Dunham officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
