Eleanor "Dee-Dee" Ann Chapman

Eleanor "Dee-Dee" Ann Chapman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024, at the age of 96. She was born in 1928 to the late Charles and Jennie Mae Jackson. "Dee-Dee" was a devout Christian who dedicated her life to serving the Lord, and she was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church of Allison Gap. Throughout her long and fulfilling life, "Dee-Dee" was known for her unwavering strength, toughness, and feisty spirit. "Dee-Dee" leaves behind a large and loving family who will miss her dearly. Her memory will be cherished by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless relatives and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and love.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, James W. Chapman; her son, Larry Chapman; her daughter, Patricia Frye; brother, Charles W. Jackson; and two grandchildren, Troy and Tina Frye.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Jane Holmes (Wayne), and Karen Smith (Les Deville); son-in-law, Tony Frye; nine grandchildren, Dawn (Mark), Bryan (Michelle), Tracey (Ryan), Rob (Brandy), April (Wendy), Clay (Shonna), Aaron, Zach (Taylor), and Ben; twenty-two great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Funeral services for "Dee-Dee" will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Wagner officiating. The burial will follow at Elizabeth Cemetery in Saltville, VA. The family will be receiving friends from 12 until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
