Elizabeth Frye Bays Saltville, VA Elizabeth Frye Bays, age 93, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, January 23, 2021. In the quiet of the night while everyone slept, the angels came to carry her home as if she fell asleep here on earth and woke up in heaven. She loved being outside in the sunshine and working in her flower garden. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, John F. and Elizabeth Frye of Saltville; fourteen brothers and sisters; including her twin brother, John R. Frye; and her two sons, Rev. Kenny W. Gilbert and Terry L. Gilbert. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Branson Hawkins and husband Dale of Saltville, VA; one sister, Patsy McCready Vance and husband Jim; five granddaughters, Kim Gardner and husband Johnny, Tabatha Jackson and husband Dale, Tina Blevins and husband Harry, Valerie Lewis and husband James, and Billie Jo Hagar and husband Aaron; several great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Betty Gilbert; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. A private funeral will be held at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor James Bowers and Pastor Mark Baumgardner officiating. There will be a private entombment at the Mount Rose Mausoleum.
