Elizabeth Jane Poore, age 82, was reunited with her husband in heaven on November 10, 2023. She was born in Saltville Virginia to the late Claude and Julia Routh. She married the love of her life, Eugene Franklin Poore on November 23, 1956. They started their life in Saltville later moving to Portsmouth Virginia where they raised their two daughters. During her time in Portsmouth, she attended Believers Baptist Church. After her time in there, she eventually moved back to Saltville where she spent her final years. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and Christian. Her heart overflowed with love not only for her family but also for her community. Elizabeth was a devoted member of Saltville Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years, played a vital role in organizing Vacation Bible School, and passionately led the youth. Her faith was the guiding light of her life, and she shared that light generously with those around her. She was a member of Four Seasons Garden Club and also enjoyed attending the Bristol Bird Club.

In addition to her parents, and her husband of 55 years of marriage; she was also preceded in death by her six siblings, Myrtle, Ethel, Thelma, Hazel, Imogene, and Ralph.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Annette Poore, and Cheryl P. Austin; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Mount Rose Cemetery with Pastor Dan Jividen officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.
